Minter Ellison is one of Asia Pacific’s leading law firms.  With a network of 15 integrated and associated offices throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom, our firm's specialist lawyers offer local experience and expertise informed by an international perspective.

We have had a presence in Hong Kong since 1987 and opened a dedicated office in 2000. We have a team of over 30 lawyers on the ground who are qualified in Hong Kong, PRC, Australia, the United States and England and Wales. They work very closely with our lawyers in Shanghai and Beijing, offering a comprehensive range of legal services to domestic and international businesses operating in Hong Kong, China, Macau and throughout the Asian region.

Our Major Projects Practice

Minter Ellison has one of the largest and most experienced major projects teams in Asia.  Drawing on the expertise of various practice groups we advise on all stages of major projects – from planning, regulatory compliance, development, financing and environment to construction, management and operation of the projects – and across various sectors including infrastructure, transport, water and wastewater, and  energy and resources.

Energy and resources
Our resources and energy lawyers have been integrally involved in all aspects of various cutting edge LNG and gas deals in Asia Pacific.  We have advised governments, developers, financiers and regulators on numerous projects involving the acquisition, development, financing and divestment of electric generation and transmission assets across the Asia Pacific Region.

We advise public and private sector sponsors, project financiers, developers, bidders, concession holders and contractors on major projects, privatisations, corporatisations and acquisitions across the Asia Pacific region. We are at the cutting edge of Public Private Partnership (PPP) development, acting for the successful bidders on Hong Kong's first two PPP projects: AsiaWorld-Expo and the SkyCity Marriott Hotel. We also have substantial experience in foreign investment, assisting companies in managing complex cross-border projects investments.
